By default, Free Download Manager checks for new versions automatically. To check for new versions manually select Help | Check for update now .
When a newer version is detected, you'll see a dialog box which shows the information about the new version. You can also choose the way of updating in this dialog box:

Update by full distributive.
·
Update by upgrade distributive.
In both cases the result of updating will be the same, but the first way of updating the program is longer than second one because of the larger size of the full distributive.
To change the update settings, select the Options | Settings | General menu item.
